Finding the Community Software Lab

We are located in Room 101 in the basement of Alumni Hall (next to the library) on the North Campus of UMass Lowell.

We are building #14 on the map

Umass Lowell North Campus Map

  1. Get on the LOWELL CONNECTOR. This is exit 35C off I-495, exit 30B off Route 3 North, and exit 30A off Route 3 South. (WARNING: Due to recent Route 3 construction, these exit numbers may be different. Follow detour signs to the Lowell Connector.)
  2. Follow the Lowell Connector for 2.3 miles, exiting at the ROUTE-3A N/THORNDIKE St exit.
  3. Merge onto THORNDIKE ST., for about a half mile. When it starts going downhill, get in the left lane.
  4. At the bottom of the hill, just after THORNDIKE ST. starts veering to the right, take a left onto FLETCHER ST.
  5. Follow FLETCHER ST. until the end.
  6. Turn RIGHT onto PAWTUCKET ST. You will go through two lights in quick succession.
  7. Turn LEFT at the second light onto UNIVERSITY AVE., crossing the bridge.
  8. Go through the first light after the bridge and go aross the VFW HIGHWAY (RT 113).
  9. At the second light, turn RIGHT onto RIVERSIDE.
  10. Go past 2 University buildings on your right, then take a RIGHT into the SERVICE ENTRANCE of the BIG parking lot on your right. This is the RIVERSIDE LOT (marked "P" on map above). Wind your way into the main body of the parking lot. Be sure to park legally as it's a long walk to the towing service.
  11. Trace your way back to RIVERSIDE st and then make a left onto UNIVERSITY ave. Walk along the UNIVERSITY ave until you see a crosswalk.
  12. Cross the street.
  13. Continue walking until you can make a right onto a path. If you are lost, ask where Lydon Library is. You should pass a staircase leading to the Lydon Library entrance. On the lower level on your right you will see an entrance to the basement. Go in without hesitation!
  14. Turn right. Follow signs to the WUML (university radio station) office (not WUML studio!). We are next to them (next door to your left when you are facing WUML office).
  15. Just knock (loudly) and we'll let you in. But the door will most probably be open.
